Today I ran 1km
It might not seem like much, but for me it was a big win. I’ve been meaning to get back into jogging for ages, but my motivation has been… well, a bit missing this year.
I know that extra bit of effort always makes me feel great, so today I decided to: put on a running bra for the online session, skip the shower afterwards, and head straight out the door for a “massive” 1km. And I did it.

On Wednesday I’m planning 2km. No pressure, no pace goals, just out-the-door and move. After that, I’ll keep finding little pockets of time to build things up again.
Maybe I’ll settle at 3km or 5km… maybe I won’t. Who knows? Right now it’s simply about rebuilding, feeling that happy buzz from a bit more exertion, and fitting it back into my life.
If you’re struggling to get started with something, break it into the tiniest step you can—and just do that. Next time, add a little more.
How do you find out what’s happening locally?
It’s always fascinating hearing the different ways people discover classes and events in our area. Lots of you spot things on Facebook, but just as many tell me you simply search online for what you need — whether that’s fitness classes, Nordic walking, or something fun to try with a friend.
With that in mind, Google reviews make a huge difference in helping others find me when they’re searching for something new to try. If you’ve enjoyed a session, an event, or even just a chat with me along the way, I’d be so grateful if you could take a moment to leave a review.
It doesn’t take long, and I genuinely love reading them.
Thank you so much in advance — your support means the world.
Don't Give Up!
A lovely lady came up to me today and said, “How you helped me last week did more than just give me confidence to get to the ground and back up. It’s helped me in lots of ways, as I’d started to give up.”
Comments like that remind me how easy it is to stop believing in ourselves. An injury, a condition, or simply getting older can make us assume we can’t do things anymore. And yes — some things might be out of reach. But many others are absolutely worth exploring, adapting, and approaching in our own way.

Stay positive, stay realistic, and stay open to what might still be possible. You never know where that little bit of belief can take you. 💛

Nordic Walking – Use Your Poles Your Way
I’m often asked whether I use my poles every time I go out walking. The honest answer is… no. Sometimes I just fancy a simple stroll and leave them at home.
But other days—like today—they make a massive difference. The route had loose scree, patches of ice, and some steep climbs and descents. My poles helped me power up the slope, took the pressure off my knees, and gave me extra balance on the way down.

That’s the beauty of Nordic Walking: you get to choose how you use your poles.
• Some people use them for everyday walks around town
• Others take them on ultra races
• And if you’re looking to lose weight, tone up, or simply feel more confident on uneven ground, they can help with that too
There’s no right or wrong—just what works for you on the day.
