Squats, Pills, Knees, Gloves & Young'ns

I know a number of people don't see my posts on Facebook so here are the more popular ones that you might enjoy!
Squats
Those who attend my classes will know I like to include a squat or two. These can be the standard variety, sits to stands, bands around knees, sissy squats....
And do you know why?
Because it means that you can grab items from the bottom shelf in supermarkets, enjoy gardening and get out of a chair, plus more...
Great message just received:

"The toilet in this hotel is so low that without your years of training I would still be on it."
Pills
Today at the end of a class a lady commented: "Your classes are so much better than pills."

She went on to say: "It's hard to get here in a morning, but I feel so much better afterwards."
This conversation has made my day.
Time after time people inform me that they are going to struggle at a session. That they've got no energy. That X, Y, or Z aches.
Then at the end they say that they feel energized. And it would be great if I could come to their house every day to get them moving.
I'm sharing this because you might be struggling to get going, but trust me moving will make you feel so much better.
If you struggle to motivate yourself, then join others at an exercise session. If not one of mine, then one of the other amazing classes in our area.
Knees
Years ago I struggled with my knees, I always blamed this on trying to do the Coast to Coast walk as a teenager and carrying too much (my knees bruised and swelled).
However, I now realise that it was more likely I had weak feet, plus weak glutes.
These days my feet are much stronger (love barefoot and Altra shoes). Plus when I walk, bike and exercise I ensure my knees are properly aligned.
These changes have made a massive difference and my knees very rarely ache.

Being able to move correctly and without pain, is often about awareness and action. If you don't realise how one area is taking all the load, then you cannot do anything about it.
If you have issues with your knees get in touch and I'll see if I can help.
Gloves
Neither Micky Mouse or Michael Jackson have been to visit. Just catching up on glove washing following a number of groups enjoying Boxercise last week.

Did you know?
Boxercise challenges balance, improves coordination and stability with dynamic movements. The rotation involved in punches and kicks enhances mobility and core strength, while the combination of strength and cardio makes it a great way to stay fit.
As we get older we often loose the ability to rotate and move quickly. We slow down. So to challenge ourselves with Boxercise, keeps the nervous system firing, muscles strong and it is fun!
Ages of those who come to the class range from 40 to 70+.
Young'uns
I have nothing against young'ns. However they don't tend to come to my classes. Nor do individuals in the latest fitness gear.

What I generally get is 40+ individuals who want to improve mobility, have some fun, and do something for themselves.
Just this evening one person said they previously attended a session where everyone was 20/30 and "you know what I mean, looked good".
And often I hear "It is great coming to your sessions as it is with people like me."
One of the best ones was "You are just normal, not beautiful and fit like other instructors"...cheeky.
I'm putting this out there as maybe my sessions are for you. Get in touch if you want to know more.
